City by the Bay

I went to San Francisco last week for work. I LOVE this city!
I stayed at the W and they had these great window seats.

I had a great view of the Bay Bridge.

I went to an alumni event for our doctors at a winery. It was on Treasure Island and we had to drive across the Bay Bridge to get there. The views on the bridge were beautiful.

I went on a run one morning and discovered Yerba Buena Gardens next to my hotel.

There were a lot of people out doing tai chi, walking and jogging.

I had a morning to roam the city and I went to Chinatown in search of the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. It took me almost an hour to find the place. It is located in an alley and my iPhone located it, but I kept walking past it. The sign for it was tiny and it wasn't quite what I had in mind, but the cookies were fresh and oh so good!

See that yellow sign on the right hand side. Yeah, that's the place.

They give you a handful of unfolded cookies with your purchase.

Chinatown is so colorful!

After Chinatown I headed to Ghiradelli Square to visit my favorite little store and eatery.
{see pics of the store in this post from my April visit and here for more about my trip last Spring.}

You can't visit San Francisco without riding a trolley.

I saw the Rangers signing autographs outside of their hotel.

I left the day of game 1. We won't talk about the outcome of the series. :(

I really want to take Ty to San Francisco one day. There is so much to do there that I haven't had a chance to do on my work trips. Things are always better with him. :)

Should I be concerned or happy??

I have spotted this in my neighborhood twice this week.

Should I be concerned about the possiblity of skunks or just happy that it is being taken care of?

What a creative marketing design! haha. Ty said he has seen a camaro version at the hospital. {Hopefully, not for rodent problems. :)}

costumes, costumes, costumes

I love being able to dress up for Halloween at work. We have an elementary school nearby that brings kids over to trick or treat in our building. It's so fun to see them all dressed up!
I borrowed this costume from my brother.

It was a big hit and it is so much fun to wear!

I dressed Nuts up, but it turns out his costume was way too small. Poor guy. I had to cut him out of the shirt. I got it on him, but I couldn't get it off. Dachshunds bodies are shaped so different from other dogs. I still snapped a picture.

He was a dach (doc) just like Ty. hahahaha.
Ty had no input into this costume and was not as amused as I was. :)

Sunday night I went to Chesley's to pass out candy to her trick-or-treaters.

One little girl asked her Dad what we were supposed to be. He told her we were a heart and if we were too far from each other our heart would break. Awwwww. This is very true and is why Chesley has to move with us if we move for Ty's residency. (Seriously.)

Mojito Maven hosted a Halloween contest to find the tackiest lawn decor. I submitted this:

It may not be the craziest thing submitted, but it has to be one of the creepiest! This house sits on a corner lot in my neighborhood. The creepy gargoyle's head moves, so when you turn the corner it looks like it is watching you. You can see in the picture below the head is facing a different direction than in the picture above.

Aren't yard inflatables supposed to be cute and corny?

I hope you all had a great Halloween weekend!
