Ty and I have lived in this city for almost 2 years. There are so many things we haven't done and places we haven't seen. I have definitely seen a lot more than Ty. He needs to get out of the house (and away from the library) more. :) We (I) decided that we should start doing things around the city twice a month. So Friday night we decided to go to a wine bar downtown. Ty took a wine tasting class in college and likes to pick out wine. I do not enjoy wine, unless its a rose/pink wine, which people like to say isn't even wine. Let me get back on track here...
We picked Chesley up on our way to the wine bar and spent about 2 hours sitting around chatting and savoring our one glass each. (We are crazy people! haha!) It was a nice place with lots of tall cocktail tables and comfy seating areas. The crowd ranged from older twenties to people in their forties. We were probably the youngest ones in there. It wasn't a bad thing. Ty and I aren't really bar type people so this low key, smoke-free wine bar was much more up our alleys.

I love little low key cozy places like that!! Cute pictures, your top is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with yours truly - love your top! I think wine bars are a little piece of heaven on earth! They are so relaxing and cozy . . . or maybe that's the wine. I think that is a great idea to get out and enjoy more of what the city has to offer.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the state of the economy, playing a tourist in your own backyard is a fantastic thing to do. Even if your pocketbook isn't hurting, isn't it great to see what your city has to offer?
ReplyDeleteThat was a savvy idea!
PS-Love the J. Crew top.
I love places like that too!! And you look great in the pics - the shirt is super cute!!
ReplyDeleteloving the shirt, i have it in orange want it in navy..
ReplyDeleteThe next weekend we come up we need to take Nathan to the zoo...I think you have been there, but he should be old enough to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteLove the shirt. You look so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have only been to 2 wine bars, but they were much more fun than the smoky bars! Glad you had a good time! And I love your shirt! It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like fun. Good idea, about the city tours, twice a month!
ReplyDeletePhilbrook Museum is really neat, if you haven't been there. It's also beautiful - especially this time of year. I got my sr. pics taken there. ;) heehee
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we often don't think to explore the places right on our doorstep? We're exactly the same! I hope your next trip is as fun... the wine bar looks cool :)
ReplyDeleteSaskia x
what a great idea! can't wait to see all the fun places you guys go. looks like you had a great time at the wine bar.
ReplyDeletei love the wine bar! the decor is so cute. felipe and i ended up there saturday night because we were having dinner at dalessandro's next door and they weren't yet open (like the senior citizens we are, we showed up for dinner at 5:40pm). there was a pre-wedding party going on and every girl who came in had on a cuter dress than the last one!
ReplyDeleteI love your shirt!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun. I'm not a big wine person either (actually I think its disgusting) but that really does sound fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think its a great idea to do things around the city twice a month. You should drive up to the big city and go to Bricktown. Its a good time and lots of fun in the summer when it is warm and you can walk around!
Hey! The wine bar sounds like SO much fun! I was in Tulsa briefly this weekend. Marty and his dad went to the gun show and his mother and I drove over from OKC and spent part of Sunday in town. Tulsa is a pretty place, but a bit confusing to negotiate.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! We need to get out more and try new things too!
ReplyDeletewe are on two years in our city too ;) you will notice a similar wine bar in my pics I post later! you guys are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is fabulous!!! Where did you get it? If you don't mind me asking..
ReplyDeleteSounds like great fun! I love your little bowls too.
ReplyDeleteLove your shirt!! We don't take advantage of where we live either--and we've been here for 4 years! But, it's hard with school and stuff, so, I understand.
ReplyDeleteI used to only drink white/blush wines and now I am an ALL red girl... I think your tatste will evolve as you drink it more and more - that is what happened to me. Now I can barley drink most whites/blush because they are too sweet for me!
ReplyDeletethat sounds like so much fun! we said that same thing when we lived near dc, we did not take advantage of going into the city enough! we are definitely the same way, cozy sounds great=) super cute shirt!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad y'all had fun at the wine bar. I like them too b/c of smoke free environment. So nice.
ReplyDeleteWe've lived in DC our whole lives and even though (I feel like) we've done everything there is to do, I still don't think I know it as well as I should.. Glad you had a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Hubs and I keep talking about doing the same around our area. We live in such a big city and there's so much that we haven't done here yet! Plus, it's like a cheap little adventure since you don't have to go far! Love the wine bar...so cute :)
ReplyDeleteWine tasting is fun! And, I have that shirt in the tan color! Love it! Way to discover your own backyard!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute blog! PS -- I've been lusting over that J Crew top forever. . .it looks super cute on you.
ReplyDeleteI love wine! Wish we had a place like that in our city!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so pretty, and I just adore the shirt you are wearing in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your shirt! Looks so cute on you!!!
ReplyDeleteI like low key places as well. We do not have a wine bar here. We have the skanky, smokey places, yucky! You two are sooo stinking cute together :)
