I'm sure you have all seen The Topsy Turvy tomato grower advertised on t.v.
I have been eyeing it since it was first advertised and now I am seeing them in a lot of yards in my neighborhood. Ty told me the other day that he wanted a garden. I said no way jose! Vegetable gardens are a lot of work. My parents have one and I used to do whatever possible to avoid having to help out there. But this looks so easy and you don't have to dig in the ground. (I'm terrible at digging holes.) Has anyone bought one of these?
I also want to learn to speak Italian. I'm not going for fluently here, I just want to pick up some phrases. These CDs got high reviews on Amazon, so I am debating on them. Anyone have any suggestions? I have heard that Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone are the best, but their main packages are so expensive. This basic set is under $20, which is why I am really considering it.
Hi love...I'd need an e-mail address in order to send you an invite. If you'd rather just send me an e-mail, my e-mail address is ncsurach@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteXO :)
Check the library for language CD's, I bet they have several options!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the garden - we planted tomaotes, squash, cucumbers, and two kinds of peppers this year - it is work!
Ooh, the upside down tomato grower is so cool!! I've never seen one before! I think you should go for it!
ReplyDeleteSaskia x
Thats interesting- My dad (Who gardens a lot) said that it is best to grow them upside down. I wonder what that does for them!
ReplyDeleteLearning Italian has always been my dream! SO fuN!
i have actually read a couple of posts from fellow bloggers lately about the topsy turvys and they love them!
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing those upside down tomato things everywhere but didn't have a clue what they were. Good to know.
ReplyDeleteLet me know how the Italian cd works. I'm in the same boat: I really want to learn, but I can't picture spending that money on the Rosetta Stone unless I had a firm trip to Italy planned.
I'm surprised that my "as seen on tv" fanatical husband hasn't purchased either of these. It's only a matter of time, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteif you are just wanting to learn some words and phrases, don't spend a lot of money. what you are looking at will be fine. have your neighbors had any luck with their tomato growers?
ReplyDeleteThat tomatoe thing looks cool! I have heard gardens area a lot of work but I would love to have one! Where are you going on you vacation?!?!
ReplyDeleteMy husband saw a tomato grower at Sams that has a stand and I said No....I just don't think he would keep up with it..I would!
ReplyDeleteIf you do get one, let us know how it goes!
Do they have the language lessons at your local library?
We often have sales on Pimsleur language courses, so check out our website. The Audiobook chip format tends to be a lot cheaper than the CDs too!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your learning!
OMG I want one of the tomato growers too! I used to love tomatos but never feel like I find good ones at Publix so I told Mr. Pro I wanted one... he looked at me like I was crazy! Let me know if you get one!
ReplyDeleteI get sucked into infomercials. All of them!! I haven't ordered anything...yet...
ReplyDeleteI want that topsy turvey more than life itself. I am a HUGE tomato sandwich girl.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know if you get one and how it goes. I may also need help persuading my hubby that this is a necessity!!
oh i have been eyeing the topsy tomate thing too! I have been seeing commercial on it! get it!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to learn Italian. I feel like I need to pick up something similar, because I, too, have a not-so-exciting summer in front of me.
ReplyDeleteOh!! are you going to tanger outlets? If so I love those!
ReplyDeleteActually those are cute things to wish for! yes sometimes I wish for strange things too and those sound cute and fun to keep you busy! I would love to learn italian! And Im a sucker for wanting as seen of tv things! Have you seen those amazing as seen on tv coat hangers?? ♥♥♥

ReplyDeleteoh i so want to learn another language, the problem is i want to learn tons of them=) the tomato thing looks very cool, i can't believe i haven't seen it before!
ReplyDeletewe just received a topsy turvy as a gift...haven't used it yet, but it looks like it works well...you should order one and blog about it, so i am motivated to start...haha
ReplyDeleteI took 4 years of French in high school and then in college switched to Spanish. (Why? yeah I don't know why...) but anyways-
ReplyDeleteI decided to revisit my French and for me reading it is much easier than the speaking and listening comprehension part, so I got the French on CD. I drive alot and it does seem to be setting in the more I hear it and then repeat it. Just a suggestion, but everyone learns differently. good luck!
oh yeah, I have a daughter who has the nintendo ds and they have language games, I have the Spanish one and it also is a good way to learn, it is more interactive and can actually be fun to play. but, if you don't have a DS, nevermind. haha!
ReplyDeleteMy boss and I were in WalMart yesterday and saw the Topsy Turvy for $9.97. She said she has one and is growing not just tomatoes, but squash, cucumbers, etc. in it and it is working so well!
ReplyDeleteSo, for $9.97, you should give it a try!!
topsy turvy makes me giggle! i am just jealous that i cannot have one! i did see ALL of the "as seen on tv" stuff at Walgreens when I went back home.
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend swears by that thing for tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to try The Topsy Turvy too. I saw one recently at CVS. Let us know if you get one and how it works.
