Bumpdate: 22 & 23 weeks

22 weeks

23 weeks

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 12 lbs; I seem to be gaining a pound a week, which makes me somewhat nervous! I didn't think that was supposed to happen until the end.

Maternity Clothes: ALL maternity pants. Dresses are now a mix of regular and maternity. Still regular tops.

Gender: Baby BOY!

Movement: He gave me a good punch the other day & Chesley got to feel him. But everything is mostly still soft. He is pretty active!

Sleep: I'm starting to need more and I'm ready for bed earlier than I was a couple of weeks ago.

What I miss: I can't actually think of anything.

Cravings: Fruit, mexican food. We went to the movies on Saturday to see The Hunger Games and Ty got a Dr. Pepper. It was the best Dr. Pepper I have ever tasted!

Other crazy symptoms: Slight swelling in my fingers and feet. It is going to be a long Spring/Summer! My shins are getting cramps, oh and my gallbladder too. I didn't even know where my gallbladder was until Ty told me, but that is definitely the area I get cramps in. It is the strangest thing. Shortness of breath. General stretching/growing. I think this little guy likes to sit on my bladder.

Best Moment this week: Getting ideas finalized for the nursery. The crib has arrived, but hasn't been put together yet. I also ordered the glider last week and it will take 8-12 weeks. It feels good to have finally made some decisions on things. His room will be light blue, apple green and navy.

home for the weekend

Ty and I went home last weekend. It was a long overdue trip and we hadn't seen anyone since Christmas. Our sweet baby boy was given several gifts; all of them adorable! I downloaded an app called, Gift Log, to start tracking gifts. I love that it allows you to take a picture of the item. My SIL, Sarah, made these adorable burp cloths for him and I'm in love with the embroidery she did on the linen one.

We went to Lucas' soccer game on Saturday. Watching a bunch of 4 year olds attempt to play soccer was cute and hilarious! Not the best picture, but I couldn't see my phone screen very well in the daylight.

My sister and her husband went to the city to celebrate his birthday and she asked if I would want to keep Mason during the day. I can never say no to that! He came to the game and had so much fun. He and Lillian bonded over some grapes.

Finally fell asleep from all the morning activities! The way he naps in the car cracks me up!

I didn't get a picture of Nathan and Wade, but we saw them Saturday night. Things are too busy when all the kids are together for many pictures. :)
This picture is framed in Ty's room and I just love it. I hope baby boy gets some curls!

Ty and I both took a vacation day on Monday. Although, he was assigned a presentation over the weekend and spent the majority of the day working on it. Boo. He did make some time for me, such a good man. These presentations normally take him at least 2 weeks to prepare for, so I was thankful for the time he spent with me. We got my car windows tinted and registered for the baby! We are 99.9% sure on a name and I can't wait to share it. It was so much fun to hear our families use the name and I even got a cute video of Mason saying the name.

It has rained quite a bit here and that combined with the warm weather is making for a colorful spring. I had lunch at one of my favorite spots, Stonehorse, on Tuesday and loved looking out the window at the wisteria.

Bumpdate: 21 weeks

21 weeks

How Far Along: 21 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 9 lbs

Maternity Clothes: ALL maternity pants. Dresses and tops are still regular.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Yes! I love how active he is.

Sleep: Still getting plenty!

What I miss: Popping my lower back. When I go to stretch/twist/pop it, I can't. It hurts my stomach to stretch that way.

Cravings: Chili's Strawberry Lemonade; I'm not sure I will ever love a restaurant the way I love Chili's. I love that place. We went to eat there Friday night and I was stealing broccoli off of Ty's plate. I do not like many vegetables, so this is a weird one for me. Then, today at the school someone brought a veggie tray and I ate more broccoli. Although, this time there was ranch! I also drank ice tea this weekend. I don't normally like it, but the peach tea at a baby shower I attended hit the spot!

Other crazy symptoms: Pregnancy congestion, leg cramps, heartburn, feeling dirty (gross, I know!), and finger swelling. I didn't exercise for a couple of weeks and have started walking again. Oh, how my body has changed. It takes a while for me to get all stretched out and 30 minutes of walking is now hard!

Best Moment this week: I am still in awe of feeling him move!

I put on a tighter fitting shirt to walk in this afternoon and decided the above picture didn't quite show off the bump.

Registry Questions

I have a very kind sister, who is letting me borrow whatever I want of hers. I will use her pack and play, high chair, bumbo, swing, bouncer, jumperoo, etc. It is so nice to be able to borrow things that he will only use for a short time.

We will be going to register soon and it is still overwhelming, despite what I am borrowing from my sister. I have a couple of big items picked out that I want, but would love to get some opinions on them or any other must have item.

I have read a lot of reviews on the Britax B-Agile stroller and I am leaning toward it.
britax
It is pretty light weight as far as strollers go, extremely easy to fold, has a huge sun shade, reclines almost flat, and steers great. It is extremely easy to use with the Britax infant car seats, but I found that I like the Graco infant seats the best. Luckily, you can buy a converter piece to accommodate a Graco car seat. (The Graco seats are easier for me to carry.)

I want to have a video monitor and I'm not sure if there is much of a difference between the Summer Infant monitor or the Motorola video monitor. I am worried about the wifi interference. Has anyone experienced this?

I have heard that Medela is definitely the go to brand for pumps. Anything special I need to know about them?

What other items are must haves? If you wrote a post about your favorite baby items, please leave me the link. I would love to read over it.

I came across this post that lists registry posts the writer found helpful.

Sharing the News

Sharing the news of this precious baby with Ty and then with our families was so special!
I found out on November 13 that I was pregnant. I took a test early that evening and didn't think much of it. I had taken quite a few tests leading up to this month, and had my heart broken every time. The two lines appeared and I started shaking. I couldn't quite believe it was true. Ty worked that entire weekend and was coming home in about 30 minutes. It was the longest 30 minutes ever. I got my surprise ready for him and then ran back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom to make sure I had read the test correctly.

I was able to video the entire thing with my iPhone, although the majority of it is out of focus. It was the first time to use the video camera on my phone. He walked in the door and I told him that I had baked him something and he should look in the oven. I had a hamburger bun sitting in there.

He was a little unsure of what it meant at first, but then it dawned on him. It was such a special moment! Later that evening I ran out for a couple more tests just to be sure. :)

We waited to tell our families at Christmas when I was 10 weeks. We told Ty's family first since we do Christmas Eve with them. Ty is one of four children and there are four grandchildren, so it is always a full, active house. We decided the only time we could ensure that everyone was in the same room and quiet would be before dinner. Ty said the prayer and at the end he prayed for me and this sweet baby! Everyone's reaction was priceless! There were lots of hugs and some tears of happiness!

The next day we shared the news with my family. My brother, sister, and I make my mom a photo calendar every year for Christmas. I usually upload all the pictures into the calendar and place the order. I snuck this photo into July, which is my due date month.

It took my mom a minute to figure it all out and my sister actually spotted it first. They are so excited about adding another baby to our family!

I wish I would have been able to get pictures of everyone's reactions. This is going to be a very loved little boy!

Bumpdate: 20 weeks

20 weeks

How Far Along: 20 weeks. Halfway there!!

Total Weight Gain: 8 lbs

Maternity Clothes: ALL maternity pants. Dresses and tops are still regular.

Gender: Sweet baby BOY!

Movement: Yes! It is so neat to feel him move.

Sleep: Getting my 8 hours. 2nd trimester energy is amazing!

What I miss: Being able to catch my breath from walking up the stairs. I get back to my office and have to take a breather before I can talk. I officially feel like I'm sharing my oxygen supply!

Cravings: I have been wanting donuts for a couple of weeks, but have ignored the craving. I only want fresh ones from an actual bakery, so it hasn't been too hard to ignore since that isn't very convenient. I got a chocolate donut on Saturday and it was delish!

Other crazy symptoms: I feel dirty and stinky by the end of the day. It is an awful symptom!
I think I "popped" this week. It was like my bump grew overnight. I've also developed a fine layer of peach fuzz on my belly.

Best Moment this week: I still can't get over feeling him move! I went to a couple of consignment sales this week. One with Ty and one with my high school best friend, Chelsey, who is also pregnant. I got a couple of cute outfits, but I was most excited about finding brand new books. I sure hope this little sweet pea likes to read!
