Coffee Couples Shower

My little brother is getting married in a few weeks and we traveled home to host a shower for him. The lighting made pictures a little difficult and I crossed through most of the invitation, but this will still be good for my memories. :)

I timed the trip home with Jack's nap time. Ty had to drive separately, because he had to come back early on Sunday to fly out for an interview.

Both of our parents held Easter celebrations a week later to include us. Jack, Mason, and Blakley decorated bunny and egg shaped sugar cookies. (Jack wore this bike helmet almost all Saturday morning.)

My brother, Derek, recently took up carpentry. He offered to make a small side table for Paxton's room. I can't wait to get the finished product put in the perfect spot in the nursery.

Holding Blakley and Mason's new puppy, Charlie!

Between two egg hunts, Jack came home with quite the stash of candy! It was an extremely busy weekend and I ended up keeping Jack home from daycare on Monday. The boy slept a lot and definitely needed a day of rest!

baby shower

I had so much fun putting together a baby shower for a coworker. Maghin's husband started residency two years ago and brought them to this city. We work closely together and have a ridiculous amount of things in common. I'm not sure how I would survive the daily grind without Maghin! I have been blessed to work with wonderful people in a great work environment for so many years.

She is due with her second child in August and has a little boy who is three. Claire's nursery is pink and navy with a few elephants scattered about. I love pink and navy, so it was an easy choice for her shower! I tried to keep things somewhat simple, so others in the office wouldn't think I was totally crazy. :) I had so much fun designing all of the paper items.

I snapped this picture before everyone had a chance to add their presents.

I had so much fun putting together my present for Maghin and Claire!

I couldn't commit to one design for notecards, so I included both.

Now we just need baby Claire to arrive!

weekend at home

Saturday morning, Ty, his brother-in-law and nephew went fishing. Ty has been wanting to do this for a long, long time. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot of time or energy to do it where we live and we are normally too busy when we visit our hometown. It worked out this weekend and they had a good time!
You can barely see Lucas in this picture behind Ty's shoulder.

I designed Mason's invite for his party.

My mom told me there was a jungle gym for the kids to play on at Nations of Fun, the place my sister rented for the party. I was expecting something small. It was anything but small! I made the mistake of wearing a dress and couldn't play on it with Jack. The thing was huge and the kids had a blast!

I loved these dinosaurs with tiny party hats on their heads!

Choo Choo, Jack is Two!

We wanted to keep Jack's party pretty simple this year. With both of our families in the same town, we decided to travel the three hours home for his party. I debated on several different themes and finally chose trains. Jack loves to ride the train at the zoo, and enjoys reading books about trains and playing with trains. I knew he would be excited! I also already had a train invitation that I had made for a good friend's son last year. All I did was change the colors out to be red, white, and blue. Choosing the same color theme from his first birthday made everything really easy. I already had all of the decor! We ordered pizza, had salad and watermelon, and a cookie cake.

It's hard to get a good picture of a busy (almost) two year old!

My nephew, Mason, had a birthday party earlier in the day and I guess Jack was paying attention to him blowing out his candles, because as soon as the candles were lit and we starting singing, he started blowing them out!

My PaPa made this train for my little brother and I love that I got to use it for Jack's party.

Painting wooden trains from Hobby Lobby

Jack preferred painting his body and hair more than the train. Silly boy. I kept wiping him down and then I would turn around and he was trying to paint himself all over again.

Jack was so excited about all of his gifts!

We tried to get a family picture, but Jack wanted to go outside and did not want to sit still for a picture. He decided to pretend he was sleeping instead of smile.

Finally, a smile! Just not in the right direction. Haha!

It was such a fun evening! I'm hoping to do something special with him on his birthday (Wednesday), but I'm so happy we got to celebrate our sweet boy with a lot of our family this weekend!
