weekend recap

We had a perfect weekend away at our hometown. The weather on Friday was gorgeous--in the 70s. I think Jack spent the entire day outside minus his afternoon nap. As soon as he woke up at Ty's parents house he was begging to go outside. We explored, hiked, went on four wheeler/golf cart rides and went up to the clinic to see Aunt Sarah and Uncle Trace and the animals. We headed to my parents house mid-morning. (What can I say, I've created an early riser! We accomplished a lot before 10 am.) Ty and I decided to take advantage of Jack's naptime and headed into town to see a movie. We spent the evening with Ty's parents, siblings and the nephews and niece. The next morning we watched Lucas play basketball. Jack loved clapping and cheering! We spent the rest of the day with my family to celebrate my niece's first birthday. We decided to head home Saturday night due to impending weather. I'm so glad we did! It alternated between sleet and snow. We stayed bundled up inside and it was so nice to get that extra family time. Jack took a four hour nap. He was worn out from his time with all his cousins! Ty had to go to work today, but Jack and I are still enjoying our time at home.

scenes from our weekend

I absolutely love when Ty has the weekend off! Oh, how I wish every weekend could be like this! No plans, just lots of family time.

Saturday morning consisted of cinnamon rolls, jammies, and tv.

Jack looks like such a big boy sitting on the couch.

Jack is starting to get excited when Nuts comes close to him. Nuts, on the other hand, typically runs if Jack touches him.

Ty and I saw a movie Saturday afternoon. Friends from church that live in the neighborhood next to us have been offering to keep Jack and we took them up on it. We had a good time out just the two of us.

After church we went to a furniture store to look at dining room tables. Jack was in a really good mood, so we decided to eat lunch at Camille's, which is located inside the store.

Sunday evening we went to our small group from church. Jack and I both ended up wearing colored denim.

I'm treasuring this time!

scenes from our weekend

Last weekend was a four day weekend for Jack and I. Unfortunately, Ty had to work the majority of the weekend. We did manage to spend some family time together, though.

My best friend from high school, Chelsey, and I were able to get together on Saturday morning. Jack is two months older than Hudson. It is so fun to both have boys that are so close in age.

We love when we are all able to snuggle together in the morning hours and take a little snooze.

Ty started nights Monday night, so we had the morning to spend together. He had to nap that afternoon to prepare to be up all night.

We have a Waffle House really close to us and we have been saying for months that we needed to go eat breakfast there. It was a nice, little outing and I love me some breakfast food.

Jack is obsessed with the strings on Ty's clothing. He somehow wears a lot of things with strings. Maybe it's all those scrub pants.

Jack sat in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant. Such a big boy!

We love to send daddy lots of pictures when he is working. I believe the caption for this photo went something like this, "Pretty proud of his first poo in the bathtub incident." Haha. Lovely.

This weekend I am hosting a small "sprinkle" baby shower for my sister. I can't wait to share it with y'all.

I'm hosting a Stella & Dot trunk show until the end of the month. See the post here.

weekend recap

Friday night I worked at graduation for the medical school. It is always such a special event and I love that I get to work with these students on a daily basis. Megan worked in our office for a year and we got to know each other really well. She even went on a couple of recruitment trips with me, including one to DC this past spring. We had a blast together!

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on Saturday! It was the perfect day of relaxation and togetherness.

We woke up and went to eat breakfast, and made a quick trip to Target. We discovered that our neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods were all having garage sales, so we walked through the area and browsed. Later that evening we went to dinner and enjoyed each other's company. We don't have many Saturdays like that together, and it was absolutely perfect!

We also did some work on Jack's nursery. Nuts was a big help.

weekend recap

This weekend we went to a family reunion/surprise party for my Grandma's 70th birthday. I snapped a couple of pictures of my nephew Mason that I just love. He is such a sweetie.

I celebrated my first Mother's Day as a mommy to be. Ty bought me an orchid and donuts for breakfast.

I hope I can keep it alive. It's so pretty!

home for the weekend

Ty and I went home last weekend. It was a long overdue trip and we hadn't seen anyone since Christmas. Our sweet baby boy was given several gifts; all of them adorable! I downloaded an app called, Gift Log, to start tracking gifts. I love that it allows you to take a picture of the item. My SIL, Sarah, made these adorable burp cloths for him and I'm in love with the embroidery she did on the linen one.

We went to Lucas' soccer game on Saturday. Watching a bunch of 4 year olds attempt to play soccer was cute and hilarious! Not the best picture, but I couldn't see my phone screen very well in the daylight.

My sister and her husband went to the city to celebrate his birthday and she asked if I would want to keep Mason during the day. I can never say no to that! He came to the game and had so much fun. He and Lillian bonded over some grapes.

Finally fell asleep from all the morning activities! The way he naps in the car cracks me up!

I didn't get a picture of Nathan and Wade, but we saw them Saturday night. Things are too busy when all the kids are together for many pictures. :)
This picture is framed in Ty's room and I just love it. I hope baby boy gets some curls!

Ty and I both took a vacation day on Monday. Although, he was assigned a presentation over the weekend and spent the majority of the day working on it. Boo. He did make some time for me, such a good man. These presentations normally take him at least 2 weeks to prepare for, so I was thankful for the time he spent with me. We got my car windows tinted and registered for the baby! We are 99.9% sure on a name and I can't wait to share it. It was so much fun to hear our families use the name and I even got a cute video of Mason saying the name.

It has rained quite a bit here and that combined with the warm weather is making for a colorful spring. I had lunch at one of my favorite spots, Stonehorse, on Tuesday and loved looking out the window at the wisteria.
