a christmas tradition

I have bought Ty a Christmas ornament every year since we started college in 2003. It is such a fun tradition! If you know Ty at all, then you know Christmas is his favorite holiday. I can only imagine the amount of energy he had as a child at this time of the year.

The past several year the ornaments have all been doctors. I try to find something that represents the year or one of his hobbies, etc. The past four years have been consumed by medical school and I don't see that changing anytime soon since he has chosen a 5 year residency program.

This year's ornament is a doctor, but more importantly it is a specific type of doctor. This year has been all about choosing a specialty (general surgery) and applying for residencies.
Cute little surgeon!

  7. So cute! I do the same thing except we just started last year... But I see a lot of dentist ornaments in our future! Haha! We need to find an "I heart Blogging" ornament for ourselves!

  10. We try to get new ornaments every year, but they usually are from where we've been that past year. I like the idea of connecting it to what's going on in your lives!
