It happened. Again.

Some of you may remember this post about Nuts and his squirrel. Nuts tore up his favorite toy and Ty re-stuffed it and sutured it up good as new. He has had this toy for about 3.5 years. I think Nuts gets stressed when one of us is away for the night. He likes his little family to be all together. Ty was on ICU nights and Nuts demolished his squirrel, his best friend in the whole world. It was sad. I sent Ty these pictures and he said to book him for surgery in the morning. ha! The squirrel is good as new and Nuts is one happy pooch!

Can you tell how exciting our lives are right now? Great blog material over here.

  1. Our dogs cannot manage to go 24 without ripping the stuffing out of their toys! It's hopeless! They prefer gutless ducks and squirrels :) And I prefer not having piles of fuzz all over the house!

  2. i guess dogs and cats see it as something that is fun and there to be played with and somehow, someway a new one arrives when the old one disappears!

i kinda love nuts a lot.

  3. Our doxie is constantly ripping up his toys. I don't know what this says about him, but he always rips the faces of them out first. He's psycho. But he still totes their faceless selves around like a security blanket. We've started to get Kong stuffed animals and they last forever!

  4. Mine does the same thing. she loves her toys to death yet cannot wait to get the insides torn out of them so she can get to the squeaker and puncture a hole in it.

  7. so adorable!! But I have to say I am super impressed he's had that toys for years...Stuffing doesn't stay in a toy for longer than an hour in my house. My doxies destroy everything!!! :)

  8. Just be thankful it was only a stuffed squirrel. Once when my dachsunds were mad/stressed out because we got home late they unstuffed all of our couch cushions. I had to have all of them restuffed and two or three zippers replaced. One of our dogs is pretty good at unzipping zippers.

  9. I heard on the radio recently that doxies are the number one most destructive breed of dogs. I believe it!

  11. My husband and I are constantly sending each other pictures of our basset hound. Knowing other dog parents act just the same way makes me feel a little less silly! That picture with the torn toy and the guilty dog face...too cute!

  12. Oh my gosh, my dogs destroy stuffies. It is so sad--they only have about a 48 hour lifespan in our house!

  13. Haha! I need to learn to sew so I can fix up my dogs toys after they destroy them!

  14. Nuts is adorable. My dog skeeter can't keep a stuffed "baby" as we call them for more than 24 hours. He always de-furs them, takes out the stuffing, and then chews up the squeakers!!!

    Cute :)
