- I'm sure everyone has been following the story of the 33 Chilean miners who have been trapped underground for 69 days. I love watching the rescue footage. It makes me tear up every time. What an incredible story of faith!
- We experienced an earthquake today in Oklahoma. It was such a weird feeling. The earthquake wasn't bad and it didn't last very long, but earthquakes are out of our comfort zone. We are used to tornadoes.
- I am reviewing med school applications and it seems like everyone speaks Spanish and has done translating in the hospital. I wish I could speak another language.
- I have eyed these stockings from Ballard Designs for years. The Christmas catalog came in the mail this weekend and I finally bit the bullet and ordered them.
The red for me and the striped for Ty.
- Ballard Designs got me in the Christmas spirit and I bought my first Christmas gift yesterday. Too bad my family reads the blog or I would post it. It's from etsy and oh so cute!
- The weather here has been amazing! I went to my cousin's 8th grade football game last night and it was so nice to just sit outside.

ReplyDeleteVery cute stockings. I was strongly considering getting the Pottery Barn ones I've had my eye on...but I'm desperately trying to pare down our belongings for moving for residency. I may go for it now...what's another few items in our already overflowing Christmas decorations boxes?
I can't imagine being used to tornadoes! we've had a couple this summer and I'm now terrified of thunderstorms period.
ReplyDeletei was just thinking we need our first stockings ... those are adorable! ive been eyeing ones from garnet hill for years ... maybe its time to bite the bullet too!

ReplyDeleteI love those stockings! I can't believe Christmas will be here before we know it - my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about the rescue of the miners. I was up way too late last night watching it and every time a new one would come up, I'd be in tears again - but they were happy tears, so I didn't mind. Such a miracle!

ReplyDeleteOK, I've been drooling over everything in the Ballard catalog right now. So ready for the holidays! Only, not really because I haven't even thought about gifts. Eeek!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I just ordered some things for my nieces and nephews from my friend through her Etsy site. We are good little plan ahead-ers. :)
ReplyDeleteCute stockings, Jesse and I don't have any yet.
ReplyDeleteNever felt the earthquake, but a lot of people that I have spoken with said they did...so crazy.

ReplyDeleteWe didn't feel the earthquake, but all discussed how weird it was to have one. All the facebook status updates about it were crazy! Way out of everyone's comfort zone!!!
Those are the cutest stockings ever! I love polka dots. I have been so amazed by the rescue in Chile as well. What a miracle!
ReplyDeleteSuch an INCREDIBLE story with those miners, and LOVE LOVE LOVE the stockings!!! Crazy about the earthquake. You can now put that on your list of “things I experienced in my lifetime” :) Glad you are okay though!
ReplyDeleteMy brother just moved to Punta Arenas in Chile (he has a blog @ benbeyond.blogspot.com) and he said that there were nation-wide celebrations in honor of the miners' rescue. When the last one emerged from the mine, fireworks went off in Punta Arenas... truly a wonderful reason to rejoice!
ReplyDeleteStumbled on your blog for the first time today - very glad I did! Great design.

Those stockings are adorable!! And I cannot get enough of the miners story either! I was glued to the tv for hours the other night. I hope someone writes a good book or produces a decent movie about it. It's too interesting!
