My Nutter Butters

Yesterday was Nuts' birthday. And yes we remembered it and told him Happy Birthday! Okay, maybe it's more me than Ty. :) I did resist the temptation to buy him a birthday gift though. We went on a birthday walk instead. Although it was definitely a lot more stopping, sniffing and marking his territory than walking.

I joke that Ty and I wouldn't have stayed married this long (2 years) if it wasn't for Nuts. Being married to a med student can be lonely and having Nuts around has helped me deal with that. I talk to him more than I care to admit. And Ty and I talk for him more than either of us would like to admit. Lately, "Nuts" has taken on a spanish accent. It's quite hilarious. I think you just have to be there to find it funny.

One day we will have children and have other things to talk about, but for now I am very content with my little family--my boys.
My favorite recent picture of Nuts.
aaaaaw, so little!

Why do dogs always have creepy eyes in pictures? How do I prevent this??

  8. Aww!! Animals are great to talk too!!! It's nice cause they don't reply!!!! My aunt and uncle have a dog named tina that looks kinda like a wolf. They always talk for her and give her THE funniest voice ever. Fun!!! Happy Birthday!!

  10. I totally know what you mean about the company of a dog when your hubby is in school; it really does make a huge difference! (And I talk for Weber all the time...so sad, but so funny!)

  14. My camera has a "animal" or "pet" feature...its a different flash and it doesnt mess up their eyes in the pictures. Also try getting on his level..or at least the camera on his level to prevent him looking up into the light and creating those creepy eyes!!

  17. Happy Birthday, Nuts! How stinking cute are those puppy photos? I love the one where he's just kind flopped on the ground.

The "evil" dog eyes are caused by the same thing that causes red eye in humans - the flash. Turn it off and not only will his eyes look normal, your pictures will look better too.

  18. Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm happy to be finding yours now.

That dog is just darling. And I know what you mean about the dog being a lifesaver when your spouse is away; my husband is a long-hours professional type, so the Pug keeps me company during his bad stretches at work.

  21. Aw, he's just too cute, I love him! And BTW, even when you have kids, Nuts doesn't have to fall to the wayside. I have many rescue friends who also have children and the dogs are still an important part of the family. ;) I love that Nuts has a Spanish accent. He's quite worldly, isn't he? ;)

  23. i know you're shocked, but kelso gets birthday presents. though since he's outrageously spoiled i don't know how he differentiates his birthday from any other day. kelso talks in a vaguely eastern european accent. perhaps he and nuts can converse someday. scary!

By the way, how do you get so many people to view your blog? Is there a way to put your blog" out there" for people to see? Or do you just know a ton of people!? I must say your blog is pretty cute!
