It also does a good job of detangling my hair. Did I mention how good it smells!?! I heard somewhere that if you rinse your hair with cold water it makes it shinier and healthier. I have no idea if that is true or not. Anyone know??
I used to have extremely oily hair. I had to wash my hair in the morning or else it would be way too oily. Luckily, with age my hair is starting to become a lot more normal. I can actually wash my hair at night! This is a huge deal for me. I've been letting it air dry before I go to bed or just sleeping on it wet. Anything to avoid blow-drying it. I can tell that not blow-drying my hair as much has really cut down on my split ends.
Oh i look forward to trying this conditioner...where do you buy your's at....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post and Happy Friday!
I have to wash my hair in the mornings! It's a weird phobia I have. But it's strange - I used to ALWAYS wash it at night and then in college, I switched. I think the shower woke me up better. Without a shower in the morning, I look like I JUST rolled out of bed.
ReplyDeleteI think we have the same hair...mine is oily!!!I know of people that dont' wash their hair everyday and their hair actually looks better the second day but not me, mine looks like a grease mop and would love to have something to fix this problem.
ReplyDeleteI also would love to be able to wash it at night and still look great in the mornings! Thanks for the help I will be looking for this product
I've been ending my showers with a shot of cold water b/c I also hear that it helps seal your hair. Not sure if it works though. And I also shower at night, so that I can skip the blow dryer and just flat iron in the morning. My hubby hates me sleeping with wet hair, but it saves me a lot of time and I think my hair looks healthier!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know i'm not the only one with a grease factory on the top of her head. I still can't wash my hair at night and be seen in public the next day. My only consolation...I've heard all the oil keeps the wrinkles at bay longer. Has to be an upside.
ReplyDeleteI think that cold water does seal the cuticle of the hair... as Jennifer said. I am definitely going to check out this conditioner!
ReplyDeleteSo I haven't told you this yet...but everytime I see pictures of you and your beautiful hair it makes me regret cutting mine! Stupid I know, but yours is SO long and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have heard the cold water thing also - but never knew if it worked, but when I do it my hair feels more shiny!!!!
Way back when I used to read Seventeen magazine (this was, of course, when I was 12 or 13 years old) I remember reading that it was healthy to rinse your hair with cold water.
ReplyDeleteI do this whenever I remember - and since I am a morning shower person, it helps wake me up!
I wish I could stop blow drying my hair as well - I get my hair cut and literally like 3 days later - I have slpit ends again - it is so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to learn about this product. I have the same problem with long hair and split ends.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great product - thanks for the recomendation... May have to try it!
ReplyDeleteterax conditioner is the B O M B. i would not still have hair on my head without it. if you continue coloring your hair, i would experiment with washing it every other time. i rinse my hair and put conditioner in it every shower, but only shampoo every other time. shampooing strips your hair of natural oils and can also exacerbate the fading process. you may find that it doesn't work for you, but as long as your hair is i bet you don't need to shampoo as often as you do.
ReplyDeleteoohhh...love me some hair products! really, it's a problem. i'm obsessed with them. and don't feel bad about dyeing your hair - i went through a phase (ok, well 4 years of college) of really light hair (aka jennifer anniston color). let's just say that bleaching my naturally dark brown hair was not the healthiest hair move. my mom (and my hair!) are so happy i've gone back to brown.
ReplyDeleteIt's true! Rinsing the conditioner out of your hair with cool water closes the root and leaves in the shine. Really, giving your whole body a cool rinse before getting out of the shower has the same effect. It doesn't make you shiny, but it reduces redness and any puffiness.
ReplyDeleteI used to have super oily hair, too. I don't know if it's the kid I'm growing or what, but I'm able to wash it every other day now (which is what you're really supposed to do). Rarely do I feel that it's super greasy.
I should stop leaving novels on peoples' blogs.
Oh my gosh...I have recently been kind of lazy about my hair! It's been so good for it though! I started washing it at night and I got one of those Hair Turbies for Chistmas! I love it, it makes drying it so much faster!
ReplyDeleteI have also heard you should rinse your hair in cool water, I have done it since High School. I don't know if it actually works or not, but I keep up the routine!
I try to wash it at night and sleep on it wet, too, and it's definitely healthier when I do that. Otherwise if I HAVE to wash it in the morning (because I did an early-am workout) then I put it up in a claw, twist, or bun or something so I still won't have to blow it dry. My hair is to the middle of my back and it does pretty well.
ReplyDeleteAnd like jezebel j. said in her comment, if I have to wash my hair several days consecutively I'll rinse with water, which totally helps with the oil, but only use shampoo every other time. But I'll ALWAYS use conditioner and it will be soft and healthy. :)
Your blog looks great! Its so cute!
ReplyDeleteLinds,
ReplyDeleteI have heard the cold water trick, but after asking my hair stylist and doing a little research, they say it isn't true...but hey...I still do it anyways.
